Bethany House is proud to support Maggie*, a current guest at one of our homes who will be attending Morgan State University in the fall where she plans to major in Biomedical Science on the pre-med track.
Teachers describe Maggie as a motivated and hardworking student who consistently takes initiative and goes above and beyond to assist her classmates. She demonstrates a strong work ethic, determination, and leadership both inside and outside the classroom.
As a current Bethany House resident, Maggie credits her experiences here with shaping her into the resilient and driven person she is today. Living in a family shelter presented significant challenges, but it also became a turning point in her life, motivating her to work harder and pursue a better future for herself and her family. Despite balancing school, family responsibilities, and two jobs, she remains focused on her education and long-term goals.
Through partnership with Bethany House, Project Ripple recognized her achievements and potential, Maggie was recently awarded the Project Ripple $5,000 Scholarship. Her commitment to academic excellence, service to others, and determination to overcome adversity position her for continued success as she pursues a career in medicine.
The entire Bethany House family is incredibly proud of Maggie’s resilience, work ethic, and her unyielding commitment to her dream of becoming a physician. It has been a true privilege to walk alongside her, providing stability and support as she built the foundation for this next, exciting chapter. As she moves from Bethany House to the campus of Morgan State University, we celebrate her journey and know she will continue to inspire everyone she meets.
Special thank you to all of the Bethany House supporters, the Acquafredda Family and Jeannine’s Gifts, who shopped Maggie’s wishlist and prepared her with everything a college freshman needs and deserves to start off right!
