Lennae Alicia Adams

Lennae is currently the Director of Financial Reporting for Catholic Health (CH) where she manages, leads, and mentors a team of over 20 accounting professionals. She has been working with CH since 2007, and has held various financial positions within the organization. This year she celebrated her 15 year anniversary with CH. Lennae has a BS in Accounting from SUNY Old Westbury College School of Business, and has been volunteering her time at Bethany House for over a year, as well as lending her financial knowledge regarding not for profits. 


Bonnie Ryan-Arrante, CPA, Vice Chairperson/Treasurer

Bonnie is currently a partner in a finance and management consulting firm. She is a Rockville Centre resident who is highly active in the community and a supporter of Bethany House. Bonnie has extensive experience in banking, investment management and corporate relationship management. She has also served as a Pod leader facilitating small peer groups of women within the Declare community, providing professional development and mentorship to the next generation of female leaders. Bonnie is the Co-Chairperson for the Bethany House Finance and Audit and Corporate Compliance Committees.


Martin Baicker

Martin “Marty” Baicker joined Bethany House in 2023, bringing with him more than 30 years of experience in managing non-profit organizations. In his current position as COO of Children’s Aid, he oversees projects from administrative and reporting procedures, to construction. Prior to joining Children’s Aid, Marty worked primarily in the healthcare sector, serving as Chief Administrator, COO, and Vice President for New York metropolitan area hospitals. A native of North Merrick, New York, Marty holds a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Empire State College and a master’s from New York University. He has served on the board of several nonprofits, and has donated his time and effort to promoting literacy across the country.


Ellen Furyua, Board Secretary

Ellen Furyua retired from PepsiCo in 2015 where she was Senior Director of Global Strategy and Insights. After retirement, she worked part-time at Hofstra University’s Center for STEM Research for four years, as a way to give back and learn about grants and grant management. She enjoyed bringing after school STEM to students, and was broadly exploring what direction she wanted to go next, when she was invited to join the board. Ellen has established, and currently serves as Chairperson, of the Bethany House Quality Improvement Committee.


Lisa King

Lisa is a media and communications professional who currently serves as the Vice President of MediaImpact. She is the Co-Chair of Bethany House’s Development and Communications Committee, and a longtime supporter of Bethany. Lisa is a vigorous advocate for the women and children served by Bethany House. She has established significant community ties for Bethany House with business leaders, elected officials and media outlets across Long Island. Lisa has extensive experience in the arts, and has taught in New York City schools.


Jim Lowe

Jim has been in the financial services industry for 35 years and is currently the Senior Vice President of the Private Client Division at Oppenheimer & Co., Inc., where he has worked for 25 years. Jim holds a degree in Business Management with a concentration in Finance from the State University of New York, Empire State College. He has served as a volunteer with SEO Scholars and on the boards of several other charitable organizations. Jim is an avid golfer, and looks forward to continuing to be a part of both the Bethany House golf and finance committees.


Kia Moore

Kia is an attorney, who resided in Bethany House with her family for a year when she was a teenager. She currently works as an Assistant Disabilities Rights Coordinator for the New York City Fire Department. Kia has had prosecutorial experience in two major cities and has in-depth knowledge on criminal law and rules of evidence. She has extensive experience in strategic planning and research. Kia also previously worked as an educator at the Ministry of Education in Guyana, South America.


Maryanne Foronjy Pedersen, Board Chairperson

Maryanne is currently a staff attorney with Holland & Knight, LLP.  She has significant commercial litigation and creditors rights experience. She has a proven record of success in conducting legal research, analysis, document drafting and trial preparation. Maryanne’s passion is her work as a tireless advocate for children and young adults with special needs. She has held a leadership position with the Special Education Partners (SEP) in Rockville Centre. Maryanne has worked with elected officials and the Board of Regents of New York State and utilized social media to successfully advocate for “Multiple Pathways to a Diploma for All.”  She also serves as the Chair of the Grants and Government Relations Committee.


Christine Vetrano

Christine is currently the CFO of Organic Krush which has been an active supporter of Bethany House. Christine is a dynamic financial and management executive with strong experience in strategic planning and change management. She is a mentor with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program and the EAC Chance to Advance program. Christine currently serves as the Co-Chairperson of the Bethany House Finance and Audit, and Corporate Compliance Committees.


Angela M. Zimmerman

Angela is the Director of Development and Special Programs at Molloy College, overseeing the development, corporate and alumni relations and the scholarship functions of the college. In addition, Angela coordinates Family Support Long Island @ Molloy College. Prior to coming to Molloy, Ms. Zimmerman had a long tenure in nonprofit management, and had worked at the Nassau County Youth Board for close to 30 years. She has received numerous awards for her work with children, youth and families. Angela fervently believes that a society’s investment in children, families and communities clearly communicates and projects something about ourselves, our values and our priorities into the future. Angela has been a long-time supporter of Bethany House.
