We strive to help our women, and women with childr

We strive to help our women, and women with children, feel stable, safe, secure and sometimes even pampered. So, this past September, after our generous supporter, Target™ donated several bikes to our women and children, our guests were invited to attend a bicycling event in Hempstead Lake Park, hosted by the Massapequa Park Bicycle Club (MPBC) and the Bethany House events team. MPBC planned a wonderful day, where mothers and children could connect, unwind and learn a new skill. It was simply magical…

One of our guests, Tanya*, and her two daughters had so much fun riding bikes and exploring the park, they were able to forget, if even just for the day, that they were experiencing homelessness. At the end of the day, Tanya said, “I felt normal today!” and her words really resonated with all those in attendance. And they continue to resonate with us at Bethany House as we enter the holiday season.

For our guests, “normal” means stability and security- a goal most of us take for granted. A hot shower, a quiet place to study, a room with belongings and a bed to call their own is all they long for. Bethany House is dedicated to providing our guests this “normal” experience as often and as much as possible.

Government funding allows us to provide emergency shelters for our guests- but it is not enough to just put a roof over their heads. There is so much more that we provide our guests that requires additional funding-which is why we need your help. With donations from our community, Bethany House can continue flourishing as a safe space where women and children are empowered, nurtured and supported.

And so, we ask that you please respond generously to our 2024 Annual Appeal. Every dollar makes a difference and goes directly to our programs, like Safe Ground for Families, which is a provisional home to help our guests transition into their own space, and stable living conditions.

By contributing to Bethany House, you can be the magic of the season for women and children who are simply seeking stability, security and a chance to rebuild their lives.
